I have always been invested my personal wellness; I began evaluating the importance of changing my conventional diet while still living in my parent’s home in my teens. In my early adulthood, I began reaching for healthy lifestyle by apprenticing with an herbalist, learning to cook nutrient dense meals, learning to build with natural non toxic materials, working on organic farms, and attending a lay midwifery training all before the age of 23!

When my son was born I had half of a bachelors degree in environmental policy and was unsure what I wanted my professional career to look like. This is when I was inspired to find a way to share the investments I had made in my personal wellness with others. I wanted to be able to care for entire families, watching children grow, supporting parents in bringing their best to their children while integrating natural medicine therapies; So began the 10 year journey towards becoming a Family Nurse Practitioner.

In 2016 I graduated with a Masters degree in nursing (specialty in family medicine) and began working in palliative care- increasing quality of life for patients with chronic disease by creating individual care plans based on each patient’s unique values. Simultaneously I also began my studies in Anthroposophic medicine.

Christine Rotondo, RN and Clinic admin support

My name is Christine and I feel so grateful to be a part of the Whole Family Medicine team. My journey into nursing began in 2013 when I enrolled as a student at Boston College in Massachusetts. My intention was to study science, as I have always felt a particular draw towards anatomy and psychology. When nursing found me, however, it revealed to me an even deeper affinity towards humanitarianism than I never knew I had.

I remember walking into a patient’s room for the very first time during my first clinical rotation, and knowing that I was meant to help people this way. I fell in love with the compassionate, forgiving, healing heart at the center of the care I was providing to people I may not have otherwise had the privilege to meet. My experience in nursing soon transformed from a study of body science to a multifaceted approach that promoted wellness of the entire being – body, mind, and spirit.

While my “specialty” is in Acute Cardiac Care, throughout my nursing career I’ve had the pleasure to care for many different patient populations from all walks of life. I’ve supported US Veterans in their journey to mental wellness, I’ve guided patients and their families through the end-of-life process, I’ve cared for patients and celebrated with them as they embark on new health goals to achieve results they’ve always wanted. I’ve cared for every archetype – the Mother, Father, Grandparent, Child, Partner, the homeless, the forgotten, the beloved. No matter what level of treatment they’re requiring, I see every patient as a human being deserving of dignity, and I treat them like they’re family.

Testimonials

“ My daughter reminds me every night to rub her homeopathic cream on her back. She is too young to self report changes in her life as a result of the treatment that Selah prescribed but all of the adults in her life can see that she is much more accepting, enthusiastic, and resilient about aspects of daily life that she once struggled with”

-Miriah F.

Selah did a consultation for our 4 year old son who has struggled with physical aggression towards his friends since he was one. With the presence and kindness of a mother, the intuition of a healer and the mind of a educated nurse practitioner, she offered us remedies and suggestions for how to respond that have significantly supported our son's healing journey. I have seen major shifts in his behavior since the consultation we had with Selah. We are so grateful to have her wisdom on our team during wild parenting journey!
